The corn supply chain: the secret behind a kernel

titolo post

Corn is a cereal that belongs to the Gramineae family.

Ours is a short supply chain and 100% Italian. What does short supply chain mean? Simple: a few steps from the raw material to your table.

Our organic corn originates in Piedmont, an area where the planting, harvesting and processing of the grain takes place.

The first evidence of the existence of a mill in this area dates back to the distant 17th century, a time when nuns took care of it.

Corn is grown near the mill that grinds it, and through constant coordination with farmers, the best places to grow this crop are identified, with strong>daily attention and dedication to environmental sustainability.
Once the harvest has taken place, there follows the selection of the best grains that encapsulate all the goodness of the local area.

Through the skilful milling art, now in its third generation, the grains are transformed into flour: a flour that is certified organic and undergoes rigorous controls throughout the process to comply with the strictest food safety standards, while retaining all the flavor, color and olfactory traits of nature.

But this is not the end of the flour's journey...it comes to us and is ready to be used in tasty and wholesome recipes.

Did you know that....?
. Corn kernels are very rich in dietary fiber and that cornmeal is naturally gluten-free?
