Beta-glucans contribute to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels; the beneficial effect is achieved with a daily intake of 3 g beta-glucans from oats, oat bran, barley or barley bran or from mixtures of these beta-glucans. 100 g of biscuits provide 3.0 g beta-glucans. A 50 g portion of biscuits provides 1.5 g of beta-glucans.
