We are a B Corp!

B Corps™ are companies that use business as a force for good.

They meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

B Corps change their legal statutes so that, by law, they are allowed to make decisions and implement practices that consider not only shareholder value, but also the impact of those decisions on all stakeholders — workers, customers, society, and the environment.

The B Corp community works to reduce inequality, lower poverty levels, create healthier environments, and provide dignified, meaningful jobs.

To become a certified B Corp, companies must go through a rigorous selection process. They are required to document their positive impact and undergo a verification process every three years to maintain certification.

OUR JOURNEY

Ethics and sustainability have been part of us since the beginning.

It starts with short, certified, and guaranteed supply chain projects for our flour sourcing, and continues with long-distance projects supporting fair working conditions in collaboration with Altromercato. These are signs of our commitment to act responsibly and transparently with the communities we engage with.

It’s a commitment to conscious management of energy, consumption, and resources. It reflects our will to invest in increasingly sustainable packaging alternatives made from 100% recyclable materials and in the progressive reduction of plastic.

In 2021, we at Germinal BIO decided to make our commitment to people and the environment even more tangible: we are proud to have achieved B Corp certification, marking another important milestone in our path toward sustainable development. This is a significant achievement because, out of more than 100,000 companies evaluated to date, only 3% have met the rigorous standards set by B Lab, the global nonprofit that awards the certification.

We want to be a virtuous example of doing business so that our actions generate a positive impact on people and the ecosystem — and above all, inspire change. We have a responsibility to our planet, and together, we can change course. Our role is to promote organic products that ensure health and environmental sustainability through a system of values based on Transparency, Honesty, and Respect.

The "B Corporation Certification" is a trademark licensed by B Lab, a private nonprofit organization, to companies like ours that have successfully completed the B Impact Assessment (BIA) and therefore meet the standards set by B Lab in terms of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
It should be noted that B Lab is not a conformity assessment body under Regulation (EC) No. 765/2008, nor a national, European, or international standardization body under Regulation (EU) No. 1025/2012.
The BIA criteria are independent and distinct from harmonized standards such as ISO and are not ratified by any public national or European institutions.
