GERMINAL BIO AIMS TO MAKE LOGISTICS MORE SUSTAINABLE

Germinal BIO has decided to invest in the modernization of its logistics line, placing sustainability first.

Thanks to the close collaboration with CHEP Italia, the international leader in distribution systems, we use sustainable wood for our pallets, 100% certified by the well-known FSC and PEFC certification authorities.

Furthermore, through an innovative circular distribution model, based on the sharing and reuse of pallets, we have contributed to limiting the use of new resources and reducing waste caused by the early disposal of pallets.

To get an idea of ??the impact generated by the emissions cut, we found out that thanks to this project, in just one year, we have optimized our pallet collection and return system, reducing their empty handling by approximately 28,866 km (equal to the emission into the atmosphere of 31,608 kg of CO2).

    OUR PATH

Ethic and sustainability have deep roots in our history.

They start with short supply chain projects, certified and guaranteed for the flour procurement, continue with support for remote projects to ensure fair working conditions, in collaboration with fair trade specialist Altromercato. Confirmation of willingness to operate in a responsible and transparent manner for the communities with which it interacts.

It is a commitment to the conscious management of energy, consumption and resources.

It is the desire to invest in ever new, innovative packaging alternatives that include 100% recyclable materials, moving towards a progressive reduction of plastic.

In 2021 we wanted to make our commitment to people and the environment even more concrete. We recently moved from Spa (Joint stock company) to Spa - Benefit Company with the aim of placing the achievement of solid financial results and the creation of well-being for society and the planet, all on the same level. The B-Corp certification was then, a further and significant milestone because, out of over 100 thousand companies measured to date, only 3% met the requirements established by B Lab, the international body that confers this certification.

We want to be a virtuous example of how to do business so that our actions create a positive impact on people and the ecosystem, but above all inspire change. We have a responsibility towards our planet and all together we can reverse the course. For our part, we are committed to promoting an organic product that guarantees health and environmental sustainability through a system of values made up of Transparency, Honesty and Respect.
