Germinal BIO has decided to invest in the modernization of its logistics line, placing sustainability first.

Thanks to the close collaboration with CHEP Italia, the international leader in distribution systems, we use sustainable wood for our pallets, 100% certified by the well-known FSC and PEFC certification authorities.

Furthermore, through an innovative circular distribution model, based on the sharing and reuse of pallets, we have contributed to limiting the use of new resources and reducing waste caused by the early disposal of pallets.

To get an idea of ??the impact generated by the emissions cut, we found out that thanks to this project, in just one year, we have optimized our pallet collection and return system, reducing their empty handling by approximately 28,866 km (equal to the emission into the atmosphere of 31,608 kg of CO2).

CBME Shangai took place From 10th to 12nd October – the world biggest fair dedicated to products and services for early childhood, motherhood and kids.
An international scenario during which our brand BioJunior found great success and enthusiasm from the visitors.
The great and positive feedback can be attributed to the depth of the line Baby&Kids for the Chinese market: biscuits, pasta and condiments like Italian grated cheese, tomato sauce and walnut oil.

The new fifth range product line will soon be available. This project was born during the collaboration with "L'insalata dell'Orto". This company is specialized in the fruit and vegetable sector and it will take care of selling this new line. 

There will be 100% organic and gluten free soups, minestroni, mashes: these products will be easy and ready-to-eat; the packaging makes them perfect for enjoying them on the go. Eight products with vegetables, legumes and seeds with particular healthy recipes; they will be perfect for a dynamic consumer with food intolerances that does not want to sacrify taste.  

Paolo Pisano, Sales Manager says: “We are so proud of this collaboration with "L'Insalata dell'Orto" that will be realized in the new product line launch in the large distribution channel starting with the new year. During SANA - International Exhibition of Organic and Natural Products - one of our products was awarded at the Bio Awards 2019.
In particular, the winner of the award was the "Granole and Muesli - Gluten Free Line " for the BREAKFAST category.
The award ceremony was held on 6 September at SANA and – Paolo Pisano - our Sales Director went to collect the award and said: “The inner bag of this product is compostable and biodegradable and this is only the first step for our company towards the elimination of plastic from packaging. This recognition is the result of a intense teamwork and a corporate vision traditionally oriented towards eco-sustainability and transparency ”.

We have always been committed to environmental sustainability and guarantee 100% recyclability of our packaging. All our packaging is always ready for recycling, but it is also a plastic and biodegradable plastic bag.
It is an innovative material composed of vegetable substances, totally biodegradable and compostable (according to the European standard UNI EN 13432) and certified "OK Compost".
Thanks to its characteristics, this material, after use, can be disposed of in use and composted: at the end of its life cycle, therefore, it returns to the earth; all this reduces the environmental impact.

From 27th to 30th June, Germinal Bio will attend the Gluten Free fair in Barcelona sponsoring the Kids Zone.

BCN Gluten FREE is a fair dedicated to gluten-free world that was born in 2015 with the aim of transforming Barcelona into the European capital of gluten-free food. In a 5,000 m² area, BCN Gluten FREE 2019 will have more than 100 national and international exhibitors and over 10,000 visitors. In addition, the International Celiac Disease Day will be celebrated at this international fair.

On 9th June Germinal Bio attended the SIN GLU10 Race organized in Madrid by the Association of Celiac and Gluten Sensitive.

The race included different distances of 10km and 5km to encourage the participation of a lot of people. For the little ones, there was a 2.5km Family march, in which people of all ages could participate.

The objective of the initiative was to gather all the celiac people and invite the rest of the population to participate at this event. The race was a meeting point for disseminate information on gluten-free diet and sports in the community.

During the XXX edition of SANA - the International Biological and Natural Exhibition - the company was recognized with an important award with its Organic mini-burger Beetrot & Lentils.

The selection was made by a jury made up of buyers from different sectors belonging to the main large retailers and organised distribution brands.

The 20th edition of the Rome Race for the Cure - organized by Komen Italia - came to the end on May 20th. The historical center of Rome involved over 72,000 members dressed in pink, becoming the largest solidarity event in Italy and in the world, for the fight against breast tumors.

For four days a series of healthy eating, sport and wellness activities animated the Villaggio Race to aware about the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle as a primary form of prevention, registering a new record of adhesions and solidarity.

During Cibus 2018, Germinal Bio won the Dolci Salati & Consumi Award with the Biscuit Goji -30% sugar.

The biscuits won the "Product innovation" category, thanks to the innovative formulation and their ability to respond to new market trends. Indeed  "Less Sugar, More Taste" is our line of biscuits with less sugar (- 30% compared to the average of the best-selling biscuits), where the taste and aroma of the precious ingredients is even more pronounced.

This year, like every year, Germinal Karate Castelfranco won big: the Juniores team won the Italian Championship in Lido di Ostia and guys achieved a lot of podiums at the British Open of Ediburgh.
All these results made Germinal Karate Castelfranco the first society in Veneto in the national karate classification and the 16th in Italy (in 597 societies).

“I Bambini delle Fate” is a non-profit organization that finances social projects which are managed by parents’ associations, institutions or hospitals for children suffering from autism and disability.
Projects supported by the Organization allow to realize rehabilitation and social inclusion programs that improve the life of these children and give relief to families.

Germinal Bio is partner of Race for the Cure, at its 18th edition, that took place in Rome – Circo Massimo on May 19th- 20th-21st  2017.
The Race for the Cure is the symbolic event of the Susan G.Komen Italy, no-profit Organization based on volunteering that works since 2000 in the fight against breast cancer throughout national territory. This year 65000 people turned out that event. 
The main feature of the event is the presence of “Women in Pink”, women who have personally dealt with breast cancer and that choose to intentionally make themselves visible by wearing pink t-shirt and hat, in order to demonstrate a positive attitude with which they deal with their disease.
Our Company decided to support again this cause by giving products to participants: three days dedicated to health, sport and solidarity.

The Summer Fancy Food Show is America's biggest food and beverage show, with more than 46000 industry professionals and it represents a showcase for the innovation. We will be at Summer Fancy Food in NYC, June 26-28. There will be more than 180000 products, 25000 buyers and 2550 exhibitors. 

In June 8th and 9th Gruppo MangiarsanoGerminal will take part in Free From Food Expo in Barcelona, showing its "free-form" dedicated lines and "functional food" ranges of products.

During the show, where over 270 exhibitors will attend, including nearly 25 national pavilions, the main themes of this growing sector will be discussed.

Gruppo MangiarsanoGerminal produced a range of products dedicated to baby food in accordance with the Organic Chinese regulation. Our importer, Purall, took part in SIAL INNOVATION CONTEST 2016  with these products and obtained the diploma for product innovation.

On 21st of April, Nicola Facchinelli, MangiarsanoGerminal Quality and Development Manager, will be present as a speaker at the conference “Functional foods and “free-from”: formulation, nutritional assessment and information to the consumer” that will be held at Unindustria Treviso.
The event focuses on the characteristics of functional and “free-from” products, with a particular attention on regulatory and nutritional aspects and on the information to the consumer.
Nicola Facchinelli’s speech will be: "Management of “free-from” productions in confectionery industry”

On 5th of April a conference will be held on the subject of “ Foreign Bodies – Choose and implement procedures, control and prevention systems for foreign bodies” at Starhotels Business Palace in Milan.
The conference is organized by Istituto Internazionale di Ricerca: there will be detailed speeches in order to confront solutions adopted by different companies, discussions and a “learning by doing” session.
Participants will be able to hear the experiences of important Companies in the sector: Nicola Facchinelli, Quality and Development Manager, will be the spokesman of MangiarsanoGerminal Group, participating actively at the conference with a speech in the early afternoon.

BioJunior , the range products for children and kids, makes its debut in the Chinese market of organic baby food. 

New products: "Biscotti Vanilla Organic" and "Biscotti Cocoa Organic" for kids; "Biscotti Organic" and "Biscotti Apple Organic" for children 6 months+. All these products received OFDC certification by People’s Republic of China for organic products.

Thanks to every department's collaboration, this year again,  MangiarsanoGerminal Groups obtained an high level (with a score of 97,90 %) in IFS Food standard, provided by French, German and Italian retailers. IFS is a standard recognised by GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative): the aim is food safety and processes and products quality.

MangiarsanoGerminal Groups achieved very good results also in BRC standard (British Retail Consortium), provided by British retailers. From this year it is in the short-list of companies that took the unannounced audit and achieved Grade A+.

Gruppo MangiarsanoGerminal debuts in the Chinese market with BioJunior, the new range of food for kids. Gruppo MangiarsanoGerminal is the first European company to have received the prestigious designation from Organic Food Development Center for organic products: it can this way commercialize BioJunior’s line products in the People’s Republic of China.

The Organic Food Development and Certification Center of China (OFDC), a specialized certification body founded in 1994 to supervise and guarantee an high quality in the Chinese market of organic products, issued the certification for the commercialization of BioJunior products. The new range of Germinal Bio Gluten Free products is first of all the result of a thorough research on raw materials. The selected flours  are significantly different in the nutrient composition than the most commonly used flour. We manage to achieve balanced and diet products from the  nutritional point of view; this aspect often lacking in the segment of gluten-free products . The gluten-free flours , stars of the new range of Germinal Bio Gluten Free are: quinoa , buckwheat and amaranth .

The flours produced from the seeds of quinoa , buckwheat and amaranth make an high fiber content, essential amino acids, vitamins (especially B and E group ) and especially protein. The protein content is in fact higher than that of soy, rice, millet , wheat, and also of meat .

During the year 2012 we introduced in our product range the KAMUT® and Toasted Barley Biscuit. The great success coming form this reference, led us to work on a new product.
Here we are introducing our proposal: KAMUT® Biscuit with Chocolate Drops.
This biscuit is also made with KAMUT® khorasan flour, wholewheat barley flour, extra virgin olive oil and sunflower oil. This new product is enriched in the taste by using unsweetened cocoa powder and chocolate drops.
The formulation, with the addition of cocoa and chocolate, does not modify the nutritional values of the product. Fibre count, proteins, mineral salts and vitamins are provided from the flours. Dairy and egg free are also claims of the biscuits.
 

Germinal Bio takes part to “Food Experience Mondadori”, from April 10 to 14, in via Tortona 15, Milan.
The event consist of a rich program of shows about food and design, involving famous chefs and many leader brands of Italian products.

Germinal Bio took part to the 35th edition of "Su e zo per i ponti", a walk across the city of Venice and its famous bridges last sunday. Two paths of different lenght have gathered many families and visitors.

Germinal Bio offered an organic snack to all the participants at its desk, set along the way.

On june the 1st and the 2nd Gruppo MangiarsanoGerminal took part to Ecor 25th anniversary event, a company distrbuting organic products in Italy since 1987.
Productive companies from all over Europe, collaborating with Ecor for the development of organic products took part to the event.
Our group took the chace to present the new Biobimbo and Biojunior baby food product range to consumers, shopkeepers and organic-minded trade players.
 

MangiarsanoGerminal 2012 exhibition plan is very ambitious, with appointments both in Italy and abroad.

The "tour" began in January (18 and 19 January 2012) at Marca exhibition in Bologna, dedicated to the private label field. The Group has also participated to Biofach in Nuremberg (from 16 to 19 February 2012). This event, probably the most important in Europe in the field of organic foods, was an opportunity to present the new line of products BioBimbo BioJunior, that has attracted considerable interest from operators and visitors (for more information, see the web site www.bio-bimbo.it).

Gruppo MangiarsanoGerminal has always engaged in the production of organic and health food products.
The Group believes in the importance of a high-quality diet, in the health of people, in the environmental protection.

Similarly, the Association Karate Castelfranco promotes physical fitness, encouraging young athletes education and training.

Perhaps due to the common values, the two companies decided to cooperate and two years ago Gruppo MangiarsanoGerminal became a sponsor of the karate team, now named Karate Mangiarsano Castelfranco. Thanks to this support, the team is achieving a great success all over the world.
In mid-March, for instance, three athletes won the regional selection of Italian Junior Championships Combat; at the beginning of March, in Veneto region, six athletes were qualified to play the final national Combat.
In Sydney, Australia (February), two athletes won three medals. And in January, in Paris, during the Premiere League Karate, Mattia Busato, 19 yeas old, won the bronze medal just after famous athletes as Antonio Diaz, the champion of the world.
 

The new packages have a new range of features: a light background with a subtle line to render the wrapping more elegant, crisp photographs and ample space dedicated to the products’ features. With these new packages, we hope to highlight the each item’s special characteristics by providing clear, basic and certified information.

Having been designed to create a direct dialogue with our consumers, these new packages clearly call attention to each product’s distinctive features, with a specific area dedicated their benefits. The selected colour coding focuses upon the word BIO, as a clear reference to the long held tradition in the organic sector that distinguishes the Germinal brand. Ample space has also been dedicated to our “Nourish your health” slogan, a philosophy that guides each of our company’s decisions.

All Germinal products will soon be found on the market bearing this new look.

Mangiarsano Germinal Group has renewed its corporate image.

The old logos have given way to a new means of communication, one which places the focus of each message upon the white background with red and black text that characterizes the company’s new image.

All of the institutional materials and letterheads have been revised according to the guidelines of this new corporate image.
